Summer White

I love a creative Sunday project and today is no exception. Even with two ambitious wreaths now safely tucked under my belt I was still left with stacks of unclaimed, primordial felt.

Like all good, Southern women I absolutely adore a decorative flower which became my jumping off point this afternoon. This one reminds me somewhat of either a heavenly scented gardenia or a favored steel magnolia.

By this time my creative juices were flowing and thus was born my homage to the sea (that I love and miss incredibly because I haven't been on a proper vacation in eight years, but I digress). It speaks to the rising sun, the lapping waves, and the creatures living just below the surface.

Gauguin I am not, however, I still love to paint in my own incorrigible aesthetic from time to time. I find the crispness of white to be refreshing and soothing as an aromatic aloe balm. It reminds me of angelic white Sundays back in the islands.

Aahhhhh.
