America was the hope they were desperately holding out for. It both sickens and amazes me to see such evil perpetrated against mankind, and yet, observe the resilience and fortitude of the human spirit. And not just to those people over there (aka people who are wholly disconnected to me and my world) but to our very own military members. Our brothers, husbands, and fathers. This is now a dying generation whose tales must be preserved and taught so that history is more than just facts and dates. It truly was hiStory.
